Editorial Policy of the "Bulletin of the International University of Tourism And Hospitality" Journal
The editorial board of the "Bulletin of the International University of Tourism And Hospitality" journal (hereinafter referred to as the journal) is guided by the principles of professionalism, objectivity, scientific rigor, and impartiality in its activities. The board undertakes ethical commitments to the authors in preparing scientific publications and disseminating research results.
Aims of the Journal
- Publication of Research Works: To publish research works on tourism, economics, finance, marketing, and hospitality conducted in Kazakhstan, neighboring countries, and abroad.
- Informing the Scientific Community: To inform the scientific community about fundamental and applied research in these fields.
- Dissemination of Global Experience: To share global experiences and methodological approaches in these areas.
- Facilitating Interaction: To ensure interaction between representatives of various scientific organizations within Kazakhstan and internationally, including professors, scientists, researchers, doctoral students, and master's students.
Scope of the Journal
The journal focuses on articles addressing current issues and presenting scientifically substantiated research results in tourism, hospitality, economics, entrepreneurship, management, and marketing. It also includes articles reviewing the works of scientists who have achieved significant success in these fields.
Publication Ethics
The interaction between the editorial board and authors is based on the principles of transparency, honesty, politeness, fairness, and objectivity. Manuscripts undergo a preparation process for publication while preserving authors' copyright according to the laws and regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Manuscript Submission Requirements
The journal accepts articles in Kazakh, Russian, and English, which have not been previously published by the author(s), and are relevant to the journal's scope. Manuscripts must be formatted according to the journal's requirements and submitted by the corresponding author at least two months before the next issue's release. Manuscripts should be at least 10 typewritten pages long and submitted via the electronic platform, with all metadata and author details included.
Authors must submit original articles that have not been published in other publications (in print, electronic, or other open sources). Authors are responsible for the accuracy, novelty, and evidential basis of the research results. During the editing, review, and post-publication stages, authors must not offer the manuscript for publication in another journal.
Plagiarism Policy
The responsible secretary of the journal checks scientific articles for plagiarism according to the "Rules for Checking Written Works for Plagiarism at the IUTH" (PU-02-02-01). The plagiarism check is conducted using the licensed plagiarism detection system Antiplagiat.com (https://mutig.kz.antiplagiat.com/?ReturnUrl=%2Fcabinet). Scientific articles must present results that have not been previously published or intended for publication elsewhere.
The originality of the text in scientific articles submitted for publication must be at least 60%. If the originality does not meet this standard, the article is returned. Articles with an originality score above 60%, relevant to the journal's scope and meeting publication requirements, are considered for review.
Peer Review Process
All scientific articles submitted to the journal undergo double-blind peer review (where reviewers do not know the authors' details, and authors do not know the reviewers' identities). Peer review is conducted by leading experts in education and science from relevant domestic and international universities. The editors decide on the specific reviewer for the article analysis. The review period ranges from 2 to 4 weeks and can be extended at the reviewer's request.
Each reviewer has the right to refuse to review in case of a clear conflict of interest affecting the consideration of the submitted materials.
Based on the review, the reviewer recommends one of the following:
- "Accept the article": If the manuscript meets the requirements for relevance and originality, it is included in the publication list.
- "Revision required": The article is sent back to the authors for revision. After receiving the corrected text according to the reviewer's comments, the editorial board can present the article for publication without a second review.
- "Send for re-review": The article is sent back to the authors for revision. After receiving the corrected text, the article is reviewed again. If the reviewer still has significant comments, the article is reviewed a third time. If minor comments remain, the editorial board may decide to publish the article or return it without further review if the reviewer's feedback is not positive.
- "Reject the article": If the second review is positive, the article is sent to a third reviewer. If the third review is also negative, the article is rejected by the editorial board.
After receiving the reviews, the editorial board decides on the publication or rejection of the article in a meeting based on the reviewers' conclusions. Pre-press preparation of the article is mandatory, including technical editing and compliance with formatting standards and publication rules.
Archiving and Access
The official website (https://journal.iuth.edu.kz/index.php/main/index) of the "Bulletin of the International University of Tourism And Hospitality" journal on the OJS platform provides access to its content and full texts, ensuring the availability of publications to the global scientific community and the possibility of indexing the journal in international scientometric and other databases. All information on the website is available in Kazakh, Russian, and English, ensuring content transparency for both Kazakh and international scholars and readers.
The website provides information about the journal's editorial policy, aims and scope, article submission conditions, review policy, publication ethics, editorial board composition, and other information. All journal issues in electronic form are distributed free of charge.
Confidentiality
Author information is provided at the end of each article, including name, place of work, position, academic degree, and title. The editorial board does not disclose information about the author(s) to reviewers or information about reviewers to authors. Additionally, it does not publish review information.
Publication Frequency
The journal is published four times a year. Publication languages are Kazakh, Russian, and English.
Published articles may not reflect the views of the editorial board. The editorial board has the right to select quality articles and is not responsible for any misrepresentation of information in the submitted materials.
