Abstract

The article examines the mechanisms for developing rural tourism in the Turkistan Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, analyzing the key factors that contribute to its establishment and sustainable growth. Special attention is given to the geographical, cultural, and socio economic characteristics of the region, which create unique opportunities for developing tourism in rural areas. Various models and strategies are explored, including eco-tourism, agro-tourism, and ethnographic directions employed by local authorities and private entrepreneurs to attract tourists. The study evaluates the infrastructural and institutional aspects influencing the successful development of rural tourism, such as transportation accessibility, hotel infrastructure, rural settlement development, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The author concludes that integrating rural tourism into the region’s socio-economic development strategy can significantly improve the living standards of the local population, create new jobs, and enhance the ecological conditions of rural areas. The conclusion provides recommendations for effectively implementing a rural tourism support policy based on international experience and the unique features of the Turkistan Region.
