Abstract

This article examines the organisational and legal aspects of the development of ecotourism in the specially protected natural areas (SPNA) of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main objective of ecotourism is to conserve natural resources and protect the environment, while contributing to the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the local population. The article discusses the state of legislative and regulatory acts necessary for the development of
ecotourism in SPNA, the legal bases and requirements for the organisation of tourism, as well as infrastructural and organisational issues of ecotourism. It also identifies the main problems hindering the development of ecotourism and proposes solutions. The need to implement international experience and standards for the sustainable development of ecotourism in SPNA is emphasised. The article reveals the prospects and opportunities for the development of ecotourism in Kazakhstan.
